hyvo vs non hyvo

any kind of improvement going with a hyvo chain and gear ..i know they are lighter so maybe less rotation mass ???
 

hyvo chain and gears are really no lighter. It is the width of the chain and gears that make a difference in weight.

I remember reading about a dyno session back in the day regarding hyvo vs. non hyvo, and the 13W hyvo gears produced 0.7hp at the track more than the 13W non hyvo gears on a 150hp snowmobile.

I run 13W non hyvo chains and gears in all my stuff, but mostly because it's what I have always had over the years, and would cost me a small fortune to replace with all hyvo stuff.

so vs a 15 wide chain from 98-99 srx the gain must be possible running a hyvo 13w
 
we used to run complete 13w gear & chains from sx,s when racing our srx,s.
 
hyvo chain is made because it reduces the noise even more then the std 13 wide silent chain. The teeth have more radius on them to allow for friction reduction, noise loss, because it releases the chain easier then the sharper tooth of the std 13 wide.

Any faster sled using hyvo vs 13 wide?? highly doubtfull!!!!

Any faster using the stock 98-99 15 wide to 13 wide? yes, rotational weight reduction

I beleive harness is doing alot of hunting this time of year.
