you need a punch die set and a hydraulic press...like even a arbor type press, but you will have to make your own punch and die set.

I made mine at work. I used a 1" piece of plate and drilled a hole and then I made countersink of 60* that was about 3/4". Then I went to the lathe and spun up the punch with the same 60* angle on it. Put it in the press and formed all the holes.

Or you can spend 50 bucks save all the hassle and just buy some from fette bro's they work good and you can make them all fancy by putting some blue or your preferance color under neathe them like I did

tool

I made a tool out of 1" round stock and a lathe. I use a i/4" X 11/2 " bolt and nut to pull the traction hole in the running boards. No need to use a press just drill a 1/4 " hole at the location you want your traction point, install tool and tighten with 7/16 wrenches and its done.If you want pictures I forgot how to post them so you have to walk me through the steps or E mail me.

Hi Gild,
How did you make the tool and hole? I'm confused on the bolt thing?
Thanks,
