I'm rebuilding my SRX700 engine after a meltdown which took out my crank, jug, piston and cases. Currently I have it all in pieces and I'm trying to identify a part which I lost track of, I believe it to be the pulser cable but I'm not sure...in any case it appears to be damaged and I'm not sure if this was the cause of my engine meltdown. The shop manual is pretty useless for identifying hose interconnections, does anybody know what this cable connects to?

It is not a cable but a hose. The hose connects from the port on the crankcase to the port on the fuel pump. This hose provides pulsations from the engine to the fuel pump. The pulses from the engine actuaet the diaphragm in the fuel pump which pushes the gas. The wire sleev over the rubber line prevents the hose from being damaged or pinched. You will want to make sure this hose is in good shape, not dried out and brittle and be sure to use the supplied clamps to secure it to the pump and crankcase.

Yeah, I figured it was a pulser hose, It would appear that despite the protective spring, it chaffed on the retainer by the fuel pump. thanks for the confirmation
