SRX Fuel filter

To change it you need to use a piece of wire to fish for it and pull it up through the filler neck. The hose is very short so you have to stretch it to get the filter out of the filler neck.

When you clean your carbs, be sure to clean the filter screens under the needle/seat. I have seen these plug up with a gel from the residues form the old gas.

When is the last time you replaced it? If you cant remember it is probobly a good idea to swap it out. They are not expensive at all.
Also, make sure when you fish it out you have a pair of vice-grips handy to grab the hose. AND DO NOT LET IT GO.

It's a new tank, so I have no idea when it was last changed. The hose is like 2" too short!

Thats what i'm sayin. You will need to grab the hose with the grips and pull it out of the tank. It really helps to have a second set of hands for doing this PITA job. Another one of Yamahas marvelous mechanical wonders.
