helmet and heated shield question

quick question.. im in the market for a new helmet.. my sxr that i just purchased has the heated shield hookup. I never owned a heated shield and im always fighting the fogging up and frozen shield here in the Adirondacks... Im currently looking at a Gmax 44s helmet.. local dealer has it on sale for 160 without the heated shield and 200 w/the shield. modular helmet.. it also has some kind of nice vented guard in the helmet.. my question is, is the electric shield worth it? or will the vent guard over the nose on these new helmets keep it from fogging? and also, if i have electric shield, do u still use the nose guard or is it not needed? thanks
 
I just bought a G-Max 44s helmet on line. Brand new for 129.00 & shipping
This included the heated shield. Color was black. Marshalldealers.com.

Heated shield is the way to go. Breath deflectors are a pain in the butt and if you have a heated shield you can forego dealing with them. You still have to control your breathing somewhat though or you can fog up the inside of your helmet.
 
$160 way to much, do some research on the net. Most places have free shipping on more than a $100. You should be able to get that helmet with shield shipped for no more than $130. Got mine on black friday sale with electric shield last yr from jazz motorsports for less than that shipped. Keep your eye out, we still got lots of time. CCC
 
Bought a heated shield last year and wish i had done it sooner! Never ever fogged up and in the worst conditions when the BRP 700 dollar helmets fogged I was still clear and looking good. I still have the nose guard in the helmet but its not closed tight around my nose, mostly because I didnt like having the cold air from the vent all over my face.

you can get a brand new one on E Bay for $106. I'm looking at getting the wife a new one.
