Any one know who can take a set of viper cylinders and prep them for srx heads and srx pipes in Canada?

You don't need to anything "prep" wise to viper cylinders, to make them work/accept srx heads. They just bolt right on. You can just use the stock viper head gasket and shave the srx heads .030" and bolt them on and go.

why would u have to cut them .030 to make them work properly

Because the srx uses O rings,if you add the viper head gasket you have to cut to compensate for the thickness of the viper headgasket.

so that wouldnt be staggered compression after that i take it and also what would you just place the head on and the viper gasket and not worry about the grooves for the o rings?
1.) you can bolt up srx heads to a viper cylinder using the viper headgasket, still will need to check your squish cleanace and machine head as needed to get correct spec.
2.) you need to come up with a megapower water rail to use srx heads, these are not that easy to find these days.
3.) you will need to jet up the pto cylinder raising the compression to match the center and mag. You also should use a srx base gasket.

thanks mrviper. i am just looking for some cheaper alternative things then buying aftermarket heads. this sounds pretty easy cause my relative owns a machine shop and can do the heads fairly cheap
better find or make a water rail first!

Can I use the srx coolant rail? What is the difference of the megapower rail?

kirk it depends on what you are doing . if your planing on putting viper cyl's on a srx you can use the srx water rail . if putting srx heads on a viper engine in a viper body you need the water rail mr.viper said or make one up. the cooling systems are set up differently. and to use viper cyl's with srx pipes in either body you need to make up adapters for the exhaust mainifolds, the viper cyl's are shorter on the exhaust side.kirk700 srx said:Can I use the srx coolant rail? i thought you can use the srx water rail w/srx heads, on viper cylinders, in a viper body, as long as you take out the thermostat in the end of the water rail?? i can't remember the other changes needed, off the top of my head right now.

there isnt enough room under the Viper hood to run the stock SRX water rail with the thermostat housing, I modified a SRX rail to work since I couldnt find an aftermarket rail like Don suggests

I am not talking about a viper. I have a srx that I am building!

Yes the viper cylinders, srx heads with the srx pipes and srx crankcase. I am building a srx with viper cylinders, power valves, srx pipes, srx 600 cdi, What jetting should I start with? The viper cylinders also have a different means to mount the exhaust manifolds! Viper has manifold studs and srx has bolts!

ok, then youll either have to use a viper headgasket and your srx heads on top, then machine them for correct squish clearance,OR, o-ring the viper cylinders to put srx heads directly on them
PLUS
build exh adaptors to correct the exh. port length and to angle them for the srx headpipes to bolt up as they are completely differnt exh ports between a srx and viper, viper is not only shorter but the mounting surface is flat to the cylinder where as the srx is angled and longer.
Im my opinion, it would be alot less work to just port the srx cylinders to the viper specs if thats what you want.

Sorry, I was commenting on Mopar's post, I didnt know what you were working on... sounds like you'd just need exhaust adapters and figure out how you are sealing the heads...

Porting the srx cylinders would probally make more sense eh! I have a set of viper cylinders and I want to use them on a project! I guess ill just have to find an easier way!
