I was riding trail 8 last year up by Munising and decided my back deserved better, so I upgraded skids this fall and I was tired of all the blue so I bought some silver paint and really went crazy...lol Has a little more of an sxr look now with the silver front suspension.

I am tearing the new skid apart

I am happy with the look of the sled, I think it matches really well. What do you guys think?

I ordered the decals from babbittsonline as well for a stock 2001 sx700r. $13 bucks a pop. thanks for the heads up srxr I am working on that now. Thanks guys for the comments. I actually picked this sled up last fall in many pieces from a yamaha dealer whom was selling it for a guy that cold seized the center cylinder and messed everything up. When I bought it it was not far from the junk yard as even the front center heat exchanger was missing. I patched it all back together, and have less then what I could buy one for it seems.

looks great, my dad did the silver paint job to the same things as you did, it looks 100% better than the blue, although yammy blue is awesome, it can be a little much.

Looks great, you'll love that polaris suspension and it'll feel alot faster with the weight transfer those have and the ride comfort will be amazing in comparison to what you had!

Actually thstorms, it was all rattle canned...I used duplicolor and I used a silver metallic for aluminum rims for the silver. Really close. Thanks for all the comments guys, I am getting more and more excited to hop on it and go for a ride. And yes SX_Slayer I felt like there was just too much blue, I think that silver really helps complement the yammi blue more. Swede, r u running a polaris skid too? I am glad you mentioned that, I am really anxious to play with that skid and get it tuned in. Lets get some snow!!

No I'm not running one, but have ridden with alot of polaris guys over the years and rode there sleds and they work great!I run a 136" m-10 which rides amazing, but i'll say the edge is the closest thing to an m-10 in factory skidframes in those years, but with better hookup which is not the m-10's strong suit.

Yeah, that is kinda what I gathered from the research I did, it was either the M-10 or the edge suspension and I picked the edge because it seems to be the best overall skid, adjusts easily for different type of riding. The M-10 seems to be more Good ride or good launching but not both.
