They're clean alright!

Ah... What an expensive experiment....

Besides Mr-PV are there other re coating methods/services that I should look at?
 
To clean valves, carb cleaner with a rag after using a new razor blade to shave off the thick stuff. Takes a few minutes each. Doesn't harm the finish.

I do the same only with combustion chamber cleaner(spray can).

X2 - I buy razor blades by the 100 pack.
 
Last year I sprayed one with oven cleaner as a test - OUCH! Stripped the coating right off. Now the good news. I ran with the stripped power valve all last season and put about 2000 kms on it. When I cleaned them at the end of the year I didn't really notice any difference between that power valve and the other two that were not stripped. So I would suggest not to worry too much about it - I'm not :)
 
I have posted this a few times....for guys in Canada visit either your GM dealer or Benson Auto Supplies and pick up some GM A/C Delco "Kleens" it comes in both spray or bottle ......soak PV for 24hrs or more and the carbon just wipes off with no damage to coating, i have even left a old pulled through valve in the stuff for over 30days and no damage to coating.....this stuff works and turns carbon into jelly...........James

That's what I was talking about. I worked as a tech for a GM Dealer for 15 years.Chrysler has their own and I'm sure Ford has their own as well.
