Does anyone have any experience with a 1.5 inch crossover track, A 144 inch in particular. I am planning to dragrace my viper with a 144 inch track, and dont know if i should get a 1.25 ripsaw which hooks up pretty good on hardpack but really sucked in wet slushy snow last year, but that was on my 121 srx or maybe a 1.5 crossover, how would a 1.5 crossover hook up for snowdrags on hard pack or wet slushy snow later in the season? Any and all opinions welcome and appreciated. Thanks

A 1.5 will be a alot better even a 2 inch track will be great with the power the viper is putting out you should defianately go with the 2inch paddle, my buddy has a Polaris switchback 700 and with 1.25 144 inch track it still spins like crazy I told him to put his 2 inch paddle track back on for drags ;)! :letitsnow :letitsnow

I have a 144" full clip 1.5" Camo crossover track on one of our SXs. I had to replace the low mileage 1 1/4" ripsaw that was on it after I speared the track windows with the slide rail and tore the track accompanied by a perfect somersault over the windshield!

The 1.5" definitely hooks up better in the loose stuff but vibrates more on the trails then the 1 1/4" ripsaw.

Wow, were you running 8 tooth drivers when that happened?I've heard its more likely with 8 tooth drivers and see wahl racing even recommends a anti-spear wheel kit on there website when switching over to the smaller drivers, any thoughts on this?

yeah these big paddle tracks are not for trail riding more for boondocking and drag racing where traction is the key

I am thinking of going to the crossover. The lugs are rock hard which means great traction on hardpack for snow drags. The bad point is it is heavy & will cost top end & stiff lugs ain,t so good in powder.

I was and am still running Wahl 8 tooth extroverts, I unknowingly lost a rail tip. It stabbed the track when I was playing in the deep stuff on a power line about 50 miles from home. I initially thought I got tangled up in a fence or wire because it stopped so short! I bolt my rail tips on now and have installed anti stab wheel kits on all of our daily riders.

i got this track on my 780 144x1.5 and while the lugs are stiff the stepped design of them allow them to flex easily.i find on hard pack its hard to get a real good launch, some times yes but not consistantly.now when it warms up in the spring it hooks real good all the time, in powder i find it as good or better than any i,ve tried, for a 1.5 lug. great all round track in my opinion.

I have one on my Attak. WAY better than the Predator that I was running. Still pulls 119 on the ole dreamometer with my 290 lb. arse on it. Have around 2,500 miles on it, and I bought it used. No tears, rips, cracks. and the clips look like new. I'll be replacing the ripjunk on my stretched Viper with one of these ;)!
