just a quick question. in the market for a new modular helmet. funds are very limited.. I wanted to get a modular helmet with the heated shield, but might have to save the 50.00 or so for the shield and wait and purchase that later on in the season... I have been looking at mainly two brands.. one is the CKX modular helmet, which is around $130.00 or so, and the other is the new Gmax 54s... this is just like the 44s, but it has the sun visor on the inside instead of the outside, and the face rotates back alittle more, its a new model... can someone tell me how CKX or gmax hold up? are they good helmets? they both are around the same price. i just want to know which is better quality? thank you.... the helmet must have a sun visor in it...... any other brands that i may look at that will cost under $200.00?

the ski-doo modular is what i have and IMO the best 1 made, and it also doesn't have the heated shield and never fogs up..

I seem to remember these in the $200-$300 range. Look on ebay for some deals. Well worth the money. If you do go this route, the helmets run small so order a pretty big size. I myself wear a XXXL.

I have the gmax 44 and its the best helmet iv'e had yet. Heated shield is great but iv'e always had that. The sun visor on the outside is no big deal. I keep it halfway when not in use and it looks like a brim on a hat. Not dorky at all if thats what your worried about. I like it better on the outside for ease of use. My buddy has one on the inside and has a hard time using it with gloves on. Mine up and down no problem. Keeps you warm. Can be a bit loud at times on long WOT runs but hardly notice. Got mine on black friday for $99 with electric shield shipped from jazz motorsports. Im sure they are going to do another sale this year. CCC

Got the hole family one, even told my buddy rod and he got himself and his brother jeff one and they loved em too. As far as a full faced helmet for the price i couldnt go wrong. CCC
