Hey folks. Just figured I'd check in and say hi. Just picked up a really nice 02 Viper. Many sleepless nights and alot of research on this board before I picked it up. Love the sled and I haven't even ridden it yet. After riding a 97 VMax SX triple last year I knew I wanted one! The power!......The sound! Was a toss up between an 01 SRX and the Viper but the Viper won out since we do more trail riding with some fields thrown in for high speed runs. Not a whole lotta big lakes here near the seacoast of New Hampshire. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and also that everyone here seems really nice and are willing to help others out. I've learned alot about the sled already. Gonna start going through it this weekend to get her ready for the snow.
Thanks,
--Brian

(I may not post a whole lot but I'll be on here frequently learning from you all.

Welcome to TY, I wish I would have been as smart as you and researched my purchase!!!

I have Viper dreams!!! LOL

Great choice Enjoy it!!!

Welcome to the TY forum, many hours and hours worth of reading on here for you to do. Definitely lots of great info on here. Thanks to this forum everything about Yamaha's that I know came from here. Careful the TY forum can be an addiction. And don't forget every Thursday night is Chat Night. (TY Chat link at the top, requires Java). Enjoy!!

Welcome Brian!
I spent many years living in Dover and then the Berwicks of Maine. Didn't do any riding there...are there any snowmobile clubs in that area?

:yrules: :wel:

Need some pics of that new sled! Your really going to have fun with it. A little work on the skid will most likely be needed but thats easy. Make sure you clean the carbs and powervalves and run fresh gas!!! CCC

picked up an 02 myself last year and rode the hell out of it and loved every second of it! where do you ride?

i just got a 02 viper as well...a cream puff with electic start and reverse with 1900km...

got some upgrades i am in the process of doing are...2" bar riser, reed spacers, clutching, 1.25 ripsaw, C&A skis, and setting up the front and rear suspention for max transfer and for my weight and riding style...and maybe a bender 4x4 single pipe

Also looking to put a pro x shorty seat on it if i can ever find a used one!

enjoy your sled!

I see we're a little addicted to chat?!?!? ;)!

FJViper, congrats on the new toy, hopefully all your homework pays off in spades.

Thanks

Hey guys,
Thanks for the warm reception.
To GibViper: I'm only about 20 minutes from Dover and I work over in Eliot Me. Yeah, there are quite a few clubs in the Rockingham County area. We belong to the Exeter Snow Hounds mainly because our connecting trails to the main corridor are managed by them.
To templeron: We do most of our riding in the area. Last year however, we got up into Baker Valley up by Plymouth and did some decent riding. Also up in the Colebrook area during Snodeo. I think this year will be even better. My wife, son and I have the Snowmobile "bug" worse than ever.I guess they had a little snow in the plymouth and pinkham notch area the other night, so...It's comin!!
I plan on pullin the sled into the garage today after I go to the Derry flea market and start working on her. Gonna start with the power valves, carbs and go right through her. Don't have a manual yet (soon) but I know my way around wrenches so I should be fine. Certainly a lot different from the ol' Polaris twins and the 70's Ski-Doo's I could work on those with my eyes closed.
Anyway, I'll keep you posted on progress and I'm gonna try to get some pics up into my garage.
Thanks again,
--Brian :letitsnow
