Hey everyone....
Just purchased an 00 SRX 700 / ohlins. A huge upgrade from the 91 Exciter I was riding last year. I got the sled for a great price, but I am a little worried about the compression. Each cylinder was reading at 119. I hear that even compression across the board is what to look for, but other srx's I was looking at where at close to 130. Anything to be worried about? Sled only has 3100 miles on it. I plan on doing a top end at the end of the season, assuming I can ride it as it, or is it something I should take care off right away. I'd like to only have to replace the gaskets and rings at the end of the season, not cylinders and sleeves :)

It could just be your guage, Do you have anything else you could test to compare. My guage usually reads 120 - 125, on my srx and viper.

Were the other sleds warmed up verses cold??? My long gage reads 110 to my brothers 128, cheaper long gage.... I think you are just fine with those numbers.

i just ordered rings, all gaskets / o-rings and crank seals for $150 shipped, cranks seals where $25 , so for $125 your can re-ring and yes these where oem parts

i think you are fine as long as they are all close to eachother, yes the longer hosed ones will read alot lower. if it is a little weak it will probably not start as easily as it should, most of these sleds in good maintence are typical to 3 pulls or so and its running as long as carbs, reeds, everything are in good shape. Carefull when ya get out with it, its a big step from the exciter. these things are rockets in stock form. itll be fun for ya.

after my re-builds..the SXR was standing over a week..took not even 1 pull to start. The SRX standing nearly 2 weeks..4-5 pulls always.Typical SRX starting..nature of the beast.
