Hi i just purchased 2 1999 Mountain Max 700's. one is a 136 with a slp can and 45 degree bar ends, the other is a 141 with a gutted can, both have mountain bars. These are my first sleds and I am looking for advise as to what i should do as i am in iraq and will be returning in jan, so i am trying to order my parts so i can get them installed as soon as i get home and take advantage of the season i have left in Montana and Washington. Thank you in advance for your help

First spend some time getting them in top shape, bearings, belt, plugs, carbs may need cleaning, jetting, check compression, clean/rebuild clutches if needed, etc... Nothing worse than spending a lot of money on new mods and then finding out you have a bad motor. How experienced are you riding sleds? Riding them as they are may be good advice for the first year. Learning how to ride a short track in the mountains will teach you a lot and you will get to know what you need the most for each sled. I rode my stock 141 MM all over the mountains here in Montana for 4 years and went most everywhere I wanted, just had to work a little harder than the longer tracks but I still had a blast. 151 tracks will be the most useful upgrade in my opinion. Pipes next. Tracks USA and Mountain Performance will be very helpful in the track extension department. I would look for used tracks here on this forum, I have had good luck finding what I need and in good shape. Good luck and get home soon, the snow is coming!!

Eliminator351- I been riding in the Marysville and Lincoln areas for about 3 years now i just used a buddies sled. These are the first sleds i will have owned. I was riding a 97 Polaris 700 136" and learned alot from it especially that i would never own a polaris.

Didn't notice you were from Helena. lol... Ok, that makes it easy. Clean them up, do the maintenance and then handle bar riser, long track (tunnel extension will probably be needed), and pipes along with jetting and clutch work if needed. I ride a lot in the Marysville and Lincoln area myself. Maybe I will run into you. I'm currently riding a 2000 MM, still love it and my boy is running a 99 MM. Great all around reliable sleds! Oh...and join the Helena Snowdrifters. www.helenasnodrifters.org We also have a facebook (Helena Snowdrifters) page that will keep you up to date on the rides and conditions.

Posted some pix for you. These should be out together most of the time so keep an eye out for us. You can kinda see the difference between the 151 and 136 tracks. :letitsnow

i will definitely keep a eye out for these as i will be out as much as possible in febuary when i get back. do you have any issues with your 99 trenching real bad? both of mine are basically identical to your 99 ecept one has a 141 on it.

Actually not sure. I have rode 99's but the snow has never been that deep to where I could notice a difference when I was on it. Everyone says that is the case... I will find out this year for sure though, this 99 will be in some deep snow. Moving the skid back would probably help.
I thought my 2000 trenched bad last year, I am hoping this camoplast will be a big improvement over the original yokahama(sp) track.
