Have a SX700R that pulls super hard (piped and moded).. looking to gear <not sure if it is up or down> to get more top end and out more load against the motor. The have room in the power band to handle it.
Do I take away a tooth on top gear or add a tooth to the bottom? What is the best thing to do.
Stock is 22/39
Thanks!

If it is just 1 or 2 teeth change the top gear.
If you raised your rpm with pipes then you
effectively geared your sled higher anyway.
Try searching under gearing and slideshowbob
posted a great deal of info regarding raised rpm
to gearing. Check it out.

22/39 is 1.77 ratio
23/39 is 1.70 ratio
You are gearing higher and loading motor more.
I would use 23/39 IMO
