where i can go to check a helix angle ???any machine shop ??? any special tools needed ?
I am gonna do a post tommorow if i have time with pics. How to measure helix angles with a $10 angle finder.
that would be great ...i did try to trace the helix on a paper then figure the angle but is not very accurate
U need a $10 angle finder & a nut & a level table.

I simply use myu starret plate protractor. Hold the protractor up to the helix w/a white backround and you can eye it up right on, if you have a good machinist eye. You'll be within 1deg either way and works great to measure those "coded" helixs w/no true angle stamping. I would really like to know more and see pics tho of turk's method.
