Hey guys I am looking for some input I am putting a 153 skid and track under my SRX Mountain and need to know where to put the front arm I measured from a 2000 MM 700 and came up with about 9 1/4" from the front bolt does that sound right? Has anyone ever done something like that? I have a MPI template I can go in a 144 hole or a 151 hole not sure which one to do..

thats about right for the front mount. next issue is what are you doing for drop brackets? you will need some that extend below the running boards about 2 1/2-3". if your going to try and run that maverick track, bulkhead clearance is a major issue to overcome even with 7t 3" pitch drivers. be prepared to cut the lugs down. next issue is to raise the front end up as that sled is already low in the front and nose heavy. can you. can you explain the mpi template in some further detail?

Its basically the template for putting a longer skid in a short track viper that is all they had the stock 8 tooth drivers had about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of clearance between the track and bulkhead but yes I am worried about the clearence I am kinda thinking I am wasting my time.

the skid is a good upgrade. track fitment is the issue and you have other options. the template probably wont help as it was used for a relocate of an existing skid for the longer track. that principal works well in that given situation, doesnt apply to your situation. things to consider on your pending project is track to bulkhead clearance with the different pitch track. the stock mtn srx 8t 2.52" drivers are around 20" circumference and the 7t are at 21", so even by dropping down to the 7's, your adding an inch, basically 1/2" add the extra lug height of another 1/2" and your out of room without a drop and roll or chaincase extension relocating the driveshaft. you can place that 153 skid to accomodate 155's in a 2.86 pitch, or the better choice of 156 or 159 in the 2.52 pitch keeping with a 2" lug.

So if I go about 9 1/2 inches back from the front hole I should be able to run the 153 with say a polaris 155 2.86 pitch? This is the reason I love these forums there is alot of help out there just a click away thanks for all the help...

with the 2.86p track, you would need to check availabilty of 7t drivers. i am still undecided on the polaris 155 2.4" in the 5 and 5.1 models. lots of paddle flex. going along your line of thinking, a camo challenger extreme in a 156" with 2" lugs in a 2.52p would be my track of choice. setting the skid back to about 10" or so should accomodate. also factor in your tunnel extension and misc. you may also want to duplicate the rest of the 153 skids mounting points and adjust from there.

here are a couple of pics of what is done so far..
