I think the mounting points were different... might be some redrilling in order.

cool...It looks like better suspension so I figure it's worth some drilling..!

The 87-90 Exciters had a progressive dampening link suspension simular to the Phazer. The 91-93 Exciters used the original Pro-Action used in many sleds up until ~1996. The Pro-Action was king of ride up until Polaris came out in ~1993 with the Extra 12 & 10 long travel rear suspensions.

Thanks! So I should be able to just swap out the shocks and springs or would I need to find the whole rear suspension setup?

Try to find a polaris xtra10 or edge skid to put under it and you won't regret it. i yanked my sxII skid last year and would've gave it away after riding on the new xtra10. it's a world of difference

moto 403, how much moding was involved in that swop...it sounds good and I have an extra 10 at home looking for a sled to fall into... I own a 93 sx....just not into a big mod project, but would like more suspension for my bad back.

You just need the measurments for the mounting hole locations from the Polaris. Measure back from the flat side of the hex drive shaft and down from the top of the tunnel for each hole. Then measure it out on your sx and drill holes. MEASURE TWICE DRILL ONCE! You may need to do some grinding or shimming of the shafts that go up into the tunnel to fit it in nice but if I remember correctly they are the same width or pretty close.

Sounds like I have a couple options. My 88 Exciter is a great lil' runner but the rear suspension is crapola so I was looking to improve the ride a bit. I'll keep my ears/eyes open for original proaction or Polaris X-10 stuff....we'll see...!
Thanks!
Thanks!
