I just bought a 98 srx 700.. I m kinda a Cat guy. Heard a lot of good things about the speed and power of these old girls.. I was looking through a repair manual for this srx, I was reading about the main jets in this thing. they talk about a 146.3 in #1&2 and a 150 in #3..In my 600 zrts they run 350s-360s. Am I looking at something wrong or what???
Not sure what style carbs are on the cat(round slides for flat slides)... Yamaha has flat slides. The main jets on the yamahas are the round style and not a hex style, if this makes any difference. I had an older Yamaha that had round slides and the jet numbers were in the 300's.
The staggered jetting that you are seeing in the manual for the srx is to compensate for the way the water flows in the motor. IF you do a search in the forums you should be able to come up with ALOT of information.

Ok now it makes more sense..I have round slides on the old zerts..What threw me was I picked up some tm 36 mm flat slides off a 02 zert and it had hex type main jets..I m sure I would have caught on when I tear it apart . But it had me scratching my head ..Thanks for the clarification..
