I want to carry a small reserve gas tank with me and am not sure where/how to mount it since there is no tunnel extension on my sled like the mountain vipers. Is there an easy way to add an extension to mount this or some sort of saddle bags that I could buy that one would fit in?

And....do any of you have saddle bags on your vipers for long trips? I cant really find any for vipers, it would maybe nice to have once in a while.

I run saddle bags on all my long trips. They're great to have. I've seen gas tanks that fit into saddle bags but not sure if these were available for Vipers.

What kind do you have? Did you get it online? Do you know of any online stores that have a variety of bags. I haven't really had any luck finding any.

If you can find one as they dont make them for 2 strokes anymore is a tour buddy. I found one by chance this summer. 2.5 extra gallons of gas that is used first. Mounts on the belt cover. Pics on post #7 of this link. This is not my sled. I put mine on my piped viper S to try and keep up with the rest of the gang. Pipes kill the MPG so the tour buddy should even me out. CCC

My bags came with the sled when I purchased it. I've seen alot of bags for sale on here and on "other" web sites. I have seen a rigid saddlebags with a small gas can somewhere but I can't remember where. :o| I think it was for an Apex or something.

Wow, those fuel packs are pretty awesome. I don't really have anywhere to mount that on my sled though. Good to know about for the future though!

I actually just bought som saddle bags last night from a member. Its a cool setup actually. Not large bags that hang off but large compartments with lots of straps to strap things down inside, so i think i'll just put a small 1.5 gal can inside there on top. He said there's room for extra stuff on both sides too even.

I would love to just put an extension and buy that track system but then i'd have to move the tail light, and that would give me an excuse to put a 136 or 144 kit on it and I would love to do that but I have a few other things to put money into... I'm in college so I need to pay for that lol. Just out of curiosity, how much is a tunnel extension with a tail light, or mount to relocate the original?
