ok, when it come to clutch work i'm totally clueless. any advice would be great. here's my issue. i put a new OEM belt on and it's sitting above the secondary sheave about 1-1.5mm. i looked at the 3 bolts to adjust the deflection and there is no shims in there right now. i then looked at the primary and the shaft is really rough and pitted. i think i need a new primary. i can see on the belt that the inside teeth are already showing wear. i'm guessing from the rough surface. there is a lot of burnt rubber stuck to the sheaves on the primary also. the belt feels awfully tight. any help would be appreciated

usually with a new belt,no shims behind them 3 bolts is required. As the belt gets worn down in width, then you can add .5mm at a time washers to close the sheaves together a little more..thus raising belt hieght. If the inside sides of the belt is wearing or shows signs of wear..then maybe your alignment if off.You have to check your center to center and alignment specs.Clean your primary up by scuffing sheaves with sandpaper, work down to a larger number on the sandpaper.Green scrub pads work to.Send pics of that issue then for use to look at first.

every fall doing maintenance to my srx i start it let it run at idle & use scothcbright on the clutch face.cleans it real nice.

it's hard to tell from the pics, but the spider shaft i rough and pitted. i checked the center to center and it is 67cm.
