Will adding 8" rear wheels take up some track tension going from the stock 6 3/8" on an M-10?
if you mean "will it tighten up the track" if everything else is the same, yes, because the wheels larger and takes up more room. You will also not be able to loosen the track as far with the same slot in the rail equally. I dont know for sure on the m10 but most times to go from a 6 3/8 wheel to a 8 inch wheel youd need to raise the rear axle to keep the bottom edge of the idler wheel at the same plane as the rest of the skid wheels or the track will be all out of whack to the slide rails going down the trail.

Thanks, yah that's what I meant. The reason I was asking is because right now my track is a bit loose and the adjusters are maxed out. I was hoping that 8" wheels with an offset axle would take up that extra slack.
I'm not sure why the track is so loose though, it's brand new. I'm wondering if it could be the rails extensions but I don't think it's possible for them to be too short. Also I did go from 9T to 8T drivers so that might have an effect as well.

ya, going to the smaller drivers made the track loose.
I would look into either slotting the rail extensions more to allow you to adjust the axle back further or using larger 8 inch rear idlers, but be sure to keep in mid the bottom of the wheel needs to remain in plain with other idler wheels.

Thanks, I plan on getting an offset axle with the 8" wheels too keep them on plane.
