Does the 2000 SXr700 have anything that would retard timing if run at full throttle 2 long to protect engine?
Running across lake and long trails the engine would slow down a little until i let off then when I hit the throttle again it would run back up to full speed for a while then do it again..
any ideas?

Not that I know of... I have never had that happen to me.

I ended up finding my clutch buttons all broke in half. I think that may have something to do with it...
a dirty fuel filter or fuel pump going bad will do that as well.

Is there another way to tell if the fuel pump is going bad?? I have the entire motor out so now is the time!!
