Hey fellas, i ran into a problem while changing my fuel filter. I fished out the filter from the top of the tank and while i was trying to pop off the old filter I was pulling too hard on the short hose and the hose popped off (along with the filter). Does anybody have an idea how to fix this problem..I'm not sure how i should re-attatch the hose and filter...the snow is starting to fly here and i would like to be out ridin as soon as possible....any advice is appreciated. thanks

easyest way is to remove the air box ,then remove the fitting in the tank that the hose goes on to. put a piece of tie wire in through the hole and feed up through the fill hole , tie it to your piece of hose with the filter attached and pull the filter hose out through the hole where the fitting goes and reattach it to the fitting.re assemble and your done.

go to the back of the tank where the fitting is bolted to the tank.Unbolt it and then fish your fuel line thru from on top.Attach a stiff wire to it either with black tape and zip tie.Feed the wire thru the fitting opening and out.At this point your filter will fall back into the tank. But remove the wire from the line,re-attach line to nipple on the fitting. Now if you were thinking before you dropped your line and filter back in,attach a string or wire to the filter end and enough length so it sits outside the fuel tank opening. Now take the fitting that was attached to the back of tank and turn it in a way to push it into the tank.At the same time pull the string from the filter end and pull filter thru tank opening on top.Change your filter, now pull the rear fitting out of the backside of tank and then let your line and filter fall back in..less the string. Now fasten the tank fittting back onto the tank..your done.
Originally when I changed my filter years back, there wasn't enough line to pull filter out completely. So I un-did the fitting on back of tank and pushed into tank while pulling up the filter with a fish hook type of wire and out of tank to replace it.And reverse to finish the install.
It's that simple...![Thumbs Up ;)! ;)!](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/div20.gif)
