just for speeds runs or dragging, i saw many people running chisels instead of picks or carbide tip.

Ice pics will be faster than trail studs always. They actually penetrate the ice instead of just gouging it, resulting in faster acceleration, and more speed. They are also lighter, and will result in less rotating mass. You want to run ice pics for speed runs, and chisels if you are drag racing.
What track are you running on your snowmobile?

not much.......for 1000....... but 1-2 mph could bring home the prize.........
Just a stock .920 track for now. next summer i will be getting a camoplast speed track. So i will end up just pulling out 96 woody gold diggers and putting in 144 pixx before race day

Studs and more studs
I have a Camoplast Vantage II that I picked up. I think it's like around .88 lug height. How would this track work for lake runs? I got a Viper 700 with some clutch work and boyseen reeds. I was thinking 144 carbide tipped studs. I don't know much about studding spec so any input would be great.
