i put on viper update shocks ( '03 ER ) front & rear. used sxr radius & steering rods. rode better. took the shocks off & went & saw bruce @ pioneer. told him what the suspension was doing & he revalved all 4. now rides as good if not better than the new stuff.

i HAVE 136 M-10 IN MY SRX, OHLIHS SHOCKS, AND I MOVED THE FRONT END OUT TO 45 INCHES CENTER TO CENTER HUGE IMPROVEMENT, MADE THE RADIUS RODS AND STEERING RODS MYSELF OUT OF ALUMINUM STOCK AND SOME MACHINE SHOP HELP. HAD A FRIEND JUST DO HIS OWN BY CUTTING STOCK PARTS, INSERT A SLUG AND REWELD. ALSO TOOK STAIBILIZER OFF AND TUNNED MY WORKS PERFORMANCE SHOCKS, MODIFIED THE SHOCK BRACKETS AND THE FRONT END WORKS SUPER!!

front end kit
Bought an M10 AIR for my o1 SRX 7. Considering the Pioneer kit but it seems pretty spendy at $600.00.
Been hunting all day for simple shock mounting brackets to raise the suspension up a bit without all the other parts, but haven't been able to find any place that still has any. I'm still looking for a cheaper way. Seems to me pioneer is basically offering an OEM sxr front suspension kit?

Don't know if you noticed but the kit does include a pretty decent pair of shocks besides the other parts. I haven't priced the other pieces on their own so I don't know if you are paying a premium for those parts for having the convenience of having everything in one package. The small amount of research I've done so far leads me to believe that Pioneer knows what they are doing though. Have you ridden the sled with M10 Air on it yet?
Srx
I installed a BLTwide front end kit on my 01 780 SRX. Then I found some true long travel Ohlin's made for the Yamaha SRX from the Factory Snow Cross team in its day. Installed them with the BLT kit instead of the Works shocks that came with it. Not that the Works shocks aren't any good but I just love my Ohlin's. Then stretched out the rear to a 136 with an Expert X and hacksaw track. Saved my Ohlin M10 for My RX1 Warrior. I was afraid if I installed the M10 in my SRX I would lose to much top end. This sled handles super and is a blast to ride. Especially with the torque of a big bore. I just received a Boss high rise seat today. I will be installing that real soon. Here is a pic I have on file.

Yes, I see the Pioneer kit does come with the Kayaba shocks(Correct)? Aren't these the same brand as the stock front shocks? Do they compare to the Ohlins or Works shocks though? I'm really not sure but lookin for some info. I'm guessin the Ohlins perform better and I don't know about the Works shocks offerred on other kits people claim to use. I'm not well versed in shock technology. Any where I can get more factual info on these shocks?thunder66 said:Don't know if you noticed but the kit does include a pretty decent pair of shocks besides the other parts. Also, in reference to the tie rods and radius rods, they could be made of aluminum or a nice alloy instead of regular steel. I think I'll call them today. Maybe they could set me up better after a little discussion.
Maybe I'm tooo cheap. I expect a lot for six hundo! If I knew the dimensions I could make the rods and just buy the shocks. Or maybe I should just put my thinkin cap on figure it out for myself.
The new skid is still in the box from receiving 2 weeks ago. Forcing myself to finish a couple other projects b-4 taking the opportunity to have this in the ol' 01 SRX 700.Lots of thinkin' b4 purchasing this M10 Air.

I am no expert by any means but am trying to learn and figure out this stuff just like you. I agree with your points about the rod materials but I am lazier than I am cheap and like the idea of getting the package and putting it on the sled...lol. As for the shocks I think I don't know if they are the same as the stock viper shocks but I beleive that they are definitely longer travel than the standard SRX shocks and will work in harmony with the widened front end from what I can see.
