Just wondering your guys opinion. I have an 00 SRX with 8000 miles on it and Ohlins on the front. I just recently purchased an 01 SRX with 2400 miles on it and KYB's up front. How much better do the Ohlins really work than he KYB's? Just can't decided whether or not to swap them before selling my 00. I find the Ohlins rough as it is so I can't see the KYB's being that much worse.

well if your selling the one with ohlins, i'll trade you a set of fresh rebuilt set of kyb shocks in mint shape for the ohlins... :)

i would keep the ohlins for sure. you find the ohlins rough because thats how they are set up 8 clicks out on the compression thats why a stock srx handles like its on rails.turn the clickers out and the ride softens up, (16 clicks max) and the front end is soft like a 70's cadaliac.to get kyb,s to do the same takes about an hour a shock if you have the tools and know how to revalve them for the ride you want.

Ohlins are sweet, but I can't knock my kyb's which were revalved by Bruce at Pioneer performance.I just had them rebuilt again by a local guy after around 7-8000 miles of riding and he said things still looked good with the oil just being a little dirty.I was surprised and impressed thinking they were so overdue for a rebuild!

Valving is key for sure. My stock Ohlins on my Viper S rode like a rock no matter were I ran the compression dampning. Had them re-valved and was like night and day!
Personally, Id keep the Ohlins and revalve them. I think you could get the KYBs to ride as well, but over all the Ohlins are a higher quality shock.

Yeah, I think I'll keep the Ohlins. Might try a revalve and see how they are. Never had any bottoming issues but they sure ride rough. I guess they tried to match them with the rear!!lol.
