I picked up a low mile '00 SRX700 this summer, previous owner mentioned a earlier melt down and I want to make sure the jetting is in the right range. It's got a bender cold air kit, no dividers in it like my '98 just some tubes going down from the cover and it's vented to atmosphere. It has 147.5, 147.5 and 150 for jets right now, is that too lean? 900ft alt. temps down to
-10f.

THERE WERE SOME PISTON FAILURE ISSUES ON SOME 2000s WHEN HELD WIDE OPEN FOR LONG PULLS. THATS WHY 2001 HAD SLIGHTLY RICHER JETTING. WITH THAT COLD AIR KIT, YOU MIGHT NEED TO GO UP SLIGHTLY MORE!! 3:16 (yammie tony)

Someones already upped the jetting, stock 2000 was 146.3/146.3/147.5 and at least the airbox isnt gutted, leave the plate in it. The 2000-02 airboxs didnt come with the early dividers in it like your98. I would personally bump it up to 150,150,152.5 for pumpgas trail riding with that cold air kit on.

Thanks guys........gonna go richer and watch piston wash then go from there. Now that I think about it more he did mention melt down was right out of storage, probably dirty carbs but still seemed too lean compared to my '98 which is 152.5, 152.5, 155.
