i just installed a temp gauge on my viper an was just wonderng what temps i should be seeing an whatnot. I had my viper out today for a spin, an the temp reached 160. But i was running low on gas so i put it away. But it seemed to hold at 160. So any feedback would be great. :letitsnow

My '02 Viper w/ SLP triples/ Srx rear heat exchanger, and a Hartman 136" kit sees anywhere from 135 on loose trails, to 175ish on iced over trails. Really depends on the conditions. I have a Cyberdyne digital gauge on mine.

my srx is rite at 125 130 ...until i let off the gas than goes up around 145 ish never no higher unless low snow ....

On my Mt Viper (2003 w/ 2" luds on 144" track), I'll see 125 - 130 degrees on any trails when my scratchers are down while riding. they work great and really lower the temps.

Maybe 130 - 135 when scratchers up, but in powder or soft snow. Anywhere up to 155 - 160 when on an icy trail without using scratchers.

My guage is a digital Daytona guage powered by my brake wire and with it's "T" socket plugged into my water rail. I believe it to be very accurate.

The guage is very helpful.

okay, i tapped into the coolant hose coming off my heads an is powered off the brake wire as well. An it was runnin at 160 an there isnt very much snow. Not even enough to cover the grass.. But what temp does it reach before the light comes on. Just curious.

I have a digital temp gauge on my '02 Viper, and the light will come on steady, according to my memory, @ I believe 195 degrees F, and it will start to blink at 205 degrees. It will be blinking if I let it sit for a moment, after turning it off, and the motor is warm, and upon re-starting it, the temperature will read high from the coolant not circulating, due to the engine being off. Upon re-starting and after the coolant circulates, I notice that at 205 it will stop blinking and become steadily lit, until ultimately, I believe, it is at 195 when it goes out.
