I've Got a Big Problem with my Extension Kit.....Any Ideas???

Over the last year or so I've been working on extending my stock 121" Viper to A 144", due to work commitments/building a new house I've just got around to finishing the job. I used the cross country kit from Mountain Performace with the changed approach angle, 8 tooth extroverts, and Tracks USA rail extensions. So, I read the instructions about 50 times and VERY carefully used the mounting template and installed the new brackets for the skid. I put the drive sprocket back in and rebuilt the chaincase. NOW, when I go to put in the skid with the Tracks USA extensions the skid is too long!! I phoned Tracks USA and gave them my part number and it is indeed the right one. I installed the MPI components perfectly as well.

Does anyone know what the problem is here?? Are the Tracks USA extensions not compatable with the MPI extension kit? Thanks.

I am assuming that the skid was set back to change the approach angle. And i am also assuming that you got 121 to 144 extensions, so witgh all that put together, you will need more than a 144" track. How far back did you set the skid from the stock location? I THINK, if you set the skid back 4 inches, you can run the 121 to 136 extension kit, and house a 144".... Someone should confirm my thinking on this. LEts say you set it back 4" and you are running a 121-144" rail extension kit, I think you need about a 151" track to do this...

is that the kit from mpi that sets the front mount back about 8" and the center and rear mounts back about 4"? then you re drill the rails and relocate the the front arm? if my math is correct, your extensions should be about 7". how long are yours? extension manufactures should make a difference, its all in the length.

I have the 121 - 144 extensions.

I just checked, all three mounts are moved back 2.5 inches and the middle and rear mounts are dropped a little as well.

The kit I have doesn't require any changes to the rails, only the extensions.

I spoke to the teck guys at MPI and they are sending me their rail extensions, as far as they know they say that the Tracks USA extensions do not work when moving the skid back, information that would of been nice to know when I ordered everything. All I know is that what I have now clearly doesn't work, its just like trying to squeeze a 144' suspension into a 121' track
