srx belts, what we found

This is our second year racing a pr of SRX's, we put them on the timers several times and we found that the 89L-17641-01 is a faster belt and you can buy them for $46 to boot, give ema try and save some money at the same time.
 
YEP WAY SOFTER COMPOUND AND GRAB CLUTCH FACES FASTER. GREAT FOR GRASS RACING. 8DN BELT STIL LHARD TO BEAT THOUGH. YOU GUYS NEED TO CHANGE OFFSET OR CENTER DISTANCE. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
How many passes per belt before U don't take a chance losing? And how long of runs are U doing?
 
We race 500 ft. and get probably 30-40 passes easy and still use them, and I runthem on ice as well which is 660. My brother then run em all winter on his sled once we take it back to trail form. My sled is race form only, doesn't go past 660'.
 
I THINK I HAVE HAD TWO 8DN ON MY 2000. AND I BOUGHT THIS SLED NEW AND ITS NEVER BEEN TRAIL RODE. GRASS, ICE, AND LAKES. I,LL STICK WITH THE 8DN. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
ran both belts before, the soft ones work good but for a while they were getting scarce and hard to get(think they were 8ch belts back then?)we switched to the 8dn harder compound belt. What i found was the harder compound belt actually holds the heat longer, so the trick to using it was keep 3 belts all the same width together, after a run, swap the belt out to a cool one and let the heated one cool off, just had to keep checking with calipers to keep the same width belts together, worked good and eliminated the heat factor and gave better times, more consistant.
 
Yammie you stick with your belts and I will stick with mine hopefully we will meet up on the track somewhere and see which is best, sled and belt.

Why ya gotta be that way, I just like a little competition, you seem to have all the answers, I'm just stating what we found, not a slam by the GOD. Not everyone is on here to be a smart ***. I'm sure your sled runs good but as we both know someoneis always faster. Here's your dollar.
 
The 8DN's can be had at a good price if you are carefull. I should have picked up one from Port at the Snow Show. But then again I have a good one on it and a new spare.

YOU BET YOUR BUTT I HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS. SOME RIGHT AND SOME WRONG, BUT BEING IN THIS GAME SINSE 1975, I PRETTY MUCH SEEN IT ALL. THINK FOR ONE SECOND HERE FUSION ABOUT YOUR POST. THE 89L BELT IS FASTER IN 500 F.T. AND 660 F.T. , OK GREAT, 99.9% OF THE GUYS HERE THAT HAVE SRX,s ARE WAY BETTER OFF WITH THE 8DN. FOR YOU AND I AND MR VIPER, SHURE, YOUR GETTING ALL YOU CAN GET FOR RACING, BUT THESE GUYS THAT '' RIDE '' THEIR SRX,s BAD ADVISE. SORRY !!!!!!! AS FARR AS BEING BEAT, HAPPENS TO THE BEST OF US. Did you do any clutch changes when you tested the two belts? How much did your rpm raise when you ran the 8dn?
 
No changes to the clutching, same track, sameday. GOD, never said I could smoke you, would like to run though, as far as nose broke, it's been done too, lesson learned, 2 guys are badder than one.If it's bad advice, my bad, about 1/2 post's are people lookin to race there buddies f-7 and so forth, didn't mean to stir the pot here,SORRY TO ALL THAT READ MY POST, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE GOD FROM NOW ON, THE SITE HAS CHANGED TO TOTALLYYAMAHAGOD 3;16.

YOU DON,T HAVE TO BE SORRY, YOU POSTED INFO !!! THATS GREAT. I AGREE THE 89L IS A BETTER DRAG RACE BELT BECAUSE IT GRABS CLUTCH FACES BETTER BECAUSE ITS SOFT, BUT 8DN MORE PRACTICAL.
