2000 SRX 700.I,ve had the mag cylinder p/v snap off twice where the barrel of the valve meets the blade. Then the blade rattles around and will actually touch the piston and get mushroomed out so it's just a b*****d to pound out(cyl has to come off).Anybody experience this crap?Is it possible the slot in the jug has become beat out?Looks the same as the others.Thanks.
Yes, I suspect the valve slot in the cylinder is deformed. This is allowing the valve to twist and bind. I am betting that a valve pulled through or the cable streched or separated. Once the cable is loose and your stops are gone, the valve hits the piston and look out. You could easily have a catastrophic failure. If you run them detached very long they will work past the stops that are in the cylinder and hit the piston.
You should be able to tell when a valve isn't working by a loss of top end. I have pulled the valve out on the trail before and run it. Then you have a loss of low-end.
Make sure you keep them adjusted.
