Hi i plan on putting in 3.6gram weighted rivets into my primary clutch (turk rec. 3.6g) When doing so i know i have to drill them out and everything but do i have to take the clutch apart to get at these rivets if so what should i do to prevent the spring flying at my face? also how many rivets are there?

Usually i like removing the clutch from the machine to give it a good looking over.

then at the bench remove the 6 10mm bolts in equal sequence as the spring will be pushing up on the cover, no the spring wont go flying BUT there will be some pressure on it, I just hold my hand on the cover as I'm taking out the last bolts.

once cover is off you can get to the weights to be removed, each weight will have two rivets so how ever many turk recommended to change usually the tip ones to go with a 4.5g with means you'll need three.

You can also do this on the sled if you prefer, or don't have a clutch removal tool.

Like daman stated remove the 6 10mm bolts on the outside. Then once inside there will be an 8mm bolt going through each weight. Remove these and pay attention to which way they go in. Then you will need to loosin the 2.5mm allen head screws to be able to remove the weight. There is a plastic washer on each side of the weight, be careful not to loose these when taking the weights out.

On reinstall remove the 2.5mm allen head screws one at a time and put blue loctite on them and put them back on. Careful as well not to loose these.

Just take your time and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hey thanks for the info, also when buying these rivets do i need to get these at a performance shop or will i be able to get them at a dealer?

Quick question. So if the recommendation is......4.5g in first hole and 3.1g in tip......you will need 3--4.5gram weights and 3--3.1 gram weights ?

Save yourself a lot of work and get some button head machine screws, washers, and jam nuts... Get a gram scale and take it to the hardware store,, and get what you need... No more drilling out rivets... So much easier to tune your clutch......

Yes that is correct.

he reccommended 3.6gram rivets...i may look into the other option to avoid drilling rivets...any idea of how many rivets id be drilling here? sorry for all the questions, i tend to stay away from clutches lol
