I've got an eTrex GPS with the handlebar mount that I want to power off the sled. I plan on getting a cigrette lighter outlet plug to mount in the shroud and was wondering if anyone could give me a good location to connect to a hot and ground.
Thanks for the help!

What sled? If it has a battery, I suggest going straight to the battery with a in line fuse.

yes good idea, if not most yamaha's have the tail light power is DC voltage, almost everything else on the sled is AC voltage, now some GPS's will work on AC voltage but why take the chance, battery or tailight circuit...............

I read in another post that all the newer yamaha sleds have a plug that the electric start/battery plug into that supply's 12V DC power. I found the plug on my SX600R by the airbox on the Mag side (3 prong triangular plug) and I checked it out and it does have DC power to it.
