Had to replace the stationary sheave on my primary(it cracked). Should i have the primary balanced ?
if you can have it done, I would...noramlly they are balanced
i put a 911 cover on mine ,kinetick balaneced it, off 6grams . cheap ins for the eng

I also thought that it would come balanced(sheave) but comparing the old sheave to the new one, there are seven dill holes along the edge of the old sheave and none on the new one. I think i will try to get the whole primary balanced.

when you get the primary balanced just make sure you index the cover to the moveable sheeve so that when you put it back together everytime you know it is still balanced

all the parts of the primary are marked with an X for alignment. the only part that doesnt is the stationary. lightning pro can and fett bros. are the two I know of that balance clutches.
yamahas stuff is preaty good, but when they are off they remove material from the stationary by drilling the back. if you changed this location by thinner split collars or removing it all together then you changed the balance of the clutch. If I break a new one down i mark the stationary and try to make them align when putting them back together the same.
