Chain Case - Oil Drain Plug location

I can't seem to find the oil drain plug for the chain case. I hope I am not going Blind! But if anyone can give me the location, I can always use the Brail Method to find it by touch.

Also, is anybody running 80w-90 in the case?

No wonder I couldn't find it, I didn't look there. So I guess I am not going blind afterall.

What weight oil are you guys runnin?
 
I've got actual Yamaha stuff in there, goin to the Amsoil stuff on the Apex next time I have it open.

Lots of information on this topic, guys run anything from Auto tranny fluid to Yamaha stuff to anything in between.
 
I run just the yamaha stuff that the dealerships sell! One little bottle of it is all you need!! Never had problems with it but as SXlover stated, im sure you could run almost anything lol
 
For the extra time it takes, you would be doing yourself a favor if instead of just draining the chaincase and refilling it, you remove the cover (the gasket is reuseable) and clean out the buildup of sludge in the bottom of the case. You can also inspect the chain for broken links. Use a light weight oil such as WD40 to flush out the case. I do this every season on all of my sleds. Good preventative maintenance.

I do the same thing. Seems like every year there is build up. Just less using a better oil.... ;)!
