I want to clean my carbs and run my sled, but I won't be riding (at least I think) for at least 3-4 weeks. Can I get some opinions on the fuel stability. If I put fresh 93 octane in her this week and clean them, will I be alright, or should I clean them again before I ride in a the weeks to come?

Or should I just clean them and wait for snow to start her up?

IMO fuel should be ok for 3-4 weeks. 2 would be better, but it should be fine. Just put some stabil in if your worried.

Well if you run your sled then clean your carbs you should be good.........

I leave my tank empty and the carbs empty till the trails are open and im ready to ride... just my opinion :)

I am leaning this way....it did run 100% last year.

Don't want to run it til I clean them. Had a meltdown last year from dirty carb.

If theres no snow for you to ride in and a fuel station is close by, may as well wait till there is snow to ride in and then go get a tank of fuel before the snow hits. Just my 2 cents, no sense leaving fuel in the tank for no reason if ya dont have to, Not saying anything will happen as my brother puts stabil in his tank for storage, makes sure its full and the old v-max4 fires right up and runs great no problems at all... Lol just more then one way to skin a cat!

You said at least 3-4 weeks so you're on the short edge as far as shelf life (1-2 months).

If it were me, I'd splash a half gallon or so to get everything warmed and adjusted and then top it off on your way out of town when it's time to ride. An ounce or so of Stabil after you're done adjusting wouldn't hurt. I'd let it run another 5-10 minutes to ensure the bowls are filled with treated fuel.

Just adding a half gallon to a dry tank may make it difficult to fill the bowls without the head pressure from a half tank or more so you may have to squirt some pre-mix to get it lit.

The alternative would be to fill it up, treat the fuel and then take it easy on long pulls with the first tank full (yeah, right).

IMO, the biggest issue with stored/treated fuel is the loss of anti-knock properties. Detonation is the end result which usually takes place during long WOT or mid-range steady state cruise conditions depending on sled set-up.
