Well I drove this sled all last year and just love it, it is pretty much stock except for clutching, silencer, studs, and long travel kit all the way around. I am taking the silencer off and putting back on the stock muffler just because at wide open runs across the lake, the DCS comes on right around 100mph everytime. I think it could be picking up some vibrations from the silencer at that speed. Anyhow I am looking to do some simple upgrades and just wanted to know what I can get the most bang for my buck out of, I am a bigger guy at 6 feet 2 and around 250 and just would like to get a little more power out of her. Please let me know what you guys think I could do to help get my fat arss going a little quicker. I was thinking maybe reeds, gear change, or maybe even a new track. I have the original track with 3300 miles on it with 144 studs (that could be replaced) but it still leaves pretty good. I do have transfer rods though and they do help, let me know what you think.
And yes I did do a search but I could not find exactly what I was looking for.
thanks for any info in advance.![Thumbs Up ;)! ;)!](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/div20.gif)

from what I read clutching is the biggest bang

since you already stated youve done som clutching, i would say a trail port would be a better investment than reeds, but a track would help

While not a simple change, I'd vote for a new track. I thought my '01 left okay until I put another track in it. Huge difference.
if you are still going to run studs get a hacksaw and 144 mega bites, replace your track with a 1.25 you'll feel the differance like night and day, also the next step would be a port job so the SRX will breath better

so you are saying get the 1.25 Hacksaw with 144 studs! I thought you could not run the 1.25 tracks with studs without having to change the drivers? is this true?
or did you just mean to change the track out with the 1.25 and NO studs and have at it? I was thinking of doing the 1.25 track but was just going to do the Ripsaw, why should I do the Hacksaw?

From what I've read and seen, yes. 1" lug with 1.075" studs seem to be the limit with the OEM drivers.

Yeah I have a 1" lug with 1.075 studs and it is to the limit would not recommend for someone who doesn't check track often and tighten it...
ok, finally got around to checking out the track, and the stock track still looks really good. Just wish I could say that about my studs. So if I want to replace the studs and keep the stock track, what studs do you guys recommend for an aggresive trail rider and a little lake racing? I know to go with the 1.075's but what brand stud? I have always had good luck with the Woodys Gold Diggers but have heard that the stainless steel studs are pretty good. Thanks for the info guys. ![Thumbs Up ;)! ;)!](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/div20.gif)

Megabites seemedto do the best for us. and they are legall in drag racing

No I mean if you go with studs get the 1" hacksaw with 1.175 megabites and if you go with a rubber track go with a 1.25 both will be night and day differance from stock
for racing I'm going with 1.200 woody's chisels but adding more protection for the exchangers
