Tell me what you think of my modified seat... The trim in the front is not quite done yet, but will be by this weekend.
1. Stock seat
2. After my trim guy removed cover, added multi-density foam and shaved the sides
3. Top View
4. Another view
No modification to the seat frame, added foam to the top, extended the foam to eliminate a gap between the seat and tank, and removed foam from the sides for a slimmer look... The trim guy did an awesome job even for not having the sled there (I had my front suspension off, re-assembling soon), the only remaining bit is the fitment of the front trim, which shouldn't take long. Let me know what you think!

Other than the fact that it appears to be purple it looks good. Pretty similar to the one I have on my srx.

Thanks ryan, it is purple, but the picture does not do it justice.

off topic, but are you running a 1.25 in track with studs, if so are you still using the stock drive cogs?

stock track, 144 picks down the center... would like to replace with a camoplast hacksaw when the tax check comes if the tax check comes lol... i think the hacksaw i saw was full window full clipped so i could switch to extrovert drivers.

That is exactly what I want to do to my seat. What did you use for foam to build it up like that?I am taking my tank bag to an upholstery place this weekend to have it fixed and would like to know what to ask for in the line of seat foam.

Yes, please explain what foam was used. I am thinking about doing something simular with my stock seat.

I would have to call my trim guy to see what brand of foam he used, This guy does interior trim on anything, but he specializes in motorcycle seats. To raise the height of the seat pad he used a 2" foam pad that was stiff like the stock foam, and on top of that was a softer 2" thick piece of foam. I can find out exactly what was used when I get back over there to have the front trim finished.

here is what i had the local guy do. the snaps dont line up perfect, but im going to get that fixed, i just took a stock seat (mine) and a junk seat that i bought from haydays, he used some of the foam from the second seat, then top layered it with denser foam, I LOVE IT, last season it rocked, 2" bar riser last year, 4" this year.

looks good slayer! i put my front end back together and got it off the stands, finally got to sit on the new seat last night, wow. big difference. I am 6'2" and before this my knees were into the handlebars (even with a 2" riser) now i have a comfy riding position, i can sit up straight and i don't fell cramped at all. i am glad i went this route instead of one of those seat wedges.
