Hello,

I have a 1994 Vmax. It has a two piece shaft, (called a jackshaft) one from the clutch side, and one from the brake side. The brake side runs through the gear drive box. I am trying to figure out how to get this shaft out and would settle to take the entire gear box off and run it into a dealer who has more tools. Anyway, I have the gear box ready to come off but it is attached below, (my guess is to the track) and I need to remove the brake cable. Does anyone know how to get this shaft out? Should I just take off the cover of the gear case or does the shaft need to be pressed in to the bearings? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

its been awhile since i did this on mine (plus i got reverse)but i know i had to split the case to get it apart. check out the picture below, it should shed some light on it for you. by the picture you'll have to split the case.
