Hello,
I have a 1994 Vmax. It has a two piece shaft, (called a jackshaft) one from the clutch side, and one from the brake side. The brake side runs through the gear drive box. I am trying to figure out how to get this shaft out and would settle to take the entire gear box off and run it into a dealer who has more tools. Anyway, I have the gear box ready to come off but it is attached below, (my guess is to the track) and I need to remove the brake cable. Does anyone know how to get this shaft out? Should I just take off the cover of the gear case or does the shaft need to be pressed in to the bearings? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
