my frican dealer is the worst one ever. i bought 52.5 pilots from them for my viper and they are too lean. at 30 degrees f their was still a hanging idle. it would rev up smooth but wouldnt come back down. i had the fuel screws out to 2.25 still hanging. so i need 55 pilots and he said that he cant take back my 52.5 pilots cause thier is no need for them anymore. and the dealer wont sell me one frican 167.5 for the mag side cause i need to run that richer. he said i have to buy all three if anything. so i said the hell with him. i paid 32 dollars for 3 pilot jets. i need to find another place where i can get jets from and not pay out my a** for them. if anyone could help me that would be awesome. thanks

I'm gonna tell you right now that pilot jets are expensive. I paid over $11/ea for the last ones I got at my dealer.
The main jets are the cheap ones.

ridergonwild5692, are you sure you have enough free play in your throttle cable? maybe its something as simple as that.

pilot jets thru marshall distributing are $3.40 to $4.60. problem is they don't sell direct, so you need to find a dealer or motorsports shop, that is tied in w/marshall distributing.
Check your carb syncronization as well...one slide could be sitting up higher then the others.

I think the 800 twins are running 220's stock...at least the doo MXZ800. Forbes Sport Stuff in Traverse City, MI sells jets individually and are priced right....look them up and give them a call they can probably drop some in the mail for you, they have always been excellant to deal with. Just a suggestion.

no, the ski-doos run hex head main jets, and not the small round head ones like the yamahas. the ski-doo 800's use anywhere from a 400-430 main.

I wouldn't waste my time and/or money with the pilots trying to get the idle hang down. I tried and it didn't help a bit. Betheviper told me it has to do with the exhaust being so efficient at that rpm range, the only solution is to turn the idle down.... here is what he told me and it worked:
"Put the 45pilots back in, its not that the sled is lean at idle, what is going on is that the pipe is making it idle high. Pipes have more than one rpm where the resonance works out to be efficent. It happens to be on this sled that the stock pipe is also efficent at around 2-2500 when the pipe is hot. so what happens is you ride fast or hard, keeping the pipe hot, then come to a stop and let off the gas. As the engine passes down through that rpm, it is so efficient there that it doesnt need alot of fuel to stay there. the reason flipping the choke makes the rpms drop is it is adding enough fuel to cool the pipe at the same time it is flooding the motor, making less power and allowing the engine to drop rpm.
the only fix is to idle the sled to 12-1500, usually works."
Makes sense to me because if it were a lean condition it would be worse in colder weather, which wasn't the case with mine-- seemed to be worse in warmer weather.

Yep, turn the idle down a bit. You can run lower than the factory 1800. Helps with mine and FYI...(sent you a PM as well) I'm 52.5 across the board, 162.5 on 1 and 3, 165 on 2. Bender triples, Opticool, rear cooler, airbox is modded to Benders specs and this sled has been running like this since it was new in '02.
I have the Bender triple '02 and a Bender single '04 S. Honestly I ride the single more than the triple anymore due to the fuel mileage. It doesn't have the mid/top hit that the '02 has, but in average trail riding it doesn't matter. I stay all over 150 horse Apex's just fine other than flat out long open stretches.

rocket... u make alot of sence cause i was tuning my sled in about 32 degree weather and the idle was hanging. the next day it was a high of like 10 and my sled had a slight one not so much though. so i take it the pipes could stay hotter in the warmer temps allowing the efficient flow

Yep, that's the way I understand it. Now I re-read and see you have tripple pipes, not sure if what BTV said applies to tripples or not. I just put SLP'S on this summer and I'm anxious to see if it still hangs with the idle turned back up to normal. But I guess it helped SRX Rider too with him having tripples....
