2000 SRX700.This thing is has been a belt eater and I'm trying to get clutch temps down.I ride a lot of ungroomed bush trails in plenty of virgin snow and find my secondary is not bad, usually about 100 F,but the primary gets to 150 to 180 F then you hear the telltale flak, flak, flak of the cords letting go and that's that.OEM belts or aftermarket, same thing.Runs cool extended wide open on the fireguard,it's the deep stuff that's the problem.Had a nasty overrev when I bought it but is good now with stock weights 4.5 inner,5.5 outer, ywy.Secondary has green@90 wrap.Tight wrap seems to help in powder by holding the upshift.Would the 54/44 helix help me or is there something else I could try.I'll sacrifice hard pack performance to get some belt life in powder.Trying to keep frugal with any upgrades, spent a ton of cash on this sled in normal repairs and belts(6)past year.
