I have been thinking about the fact that snow or water can get through the openings in the bellypan to get onto the clutch and belt, water especially, and wondered how many seams need to be sealed up.What's the best sealant to use plain old silicone or is there something better?
This is on an SRX if it matters.

Use a gutter or eavestrough sealent. Stay away from silicone products.Silicone is not as flexible as the sealents are

i drill holes in my belly pans to let oil and belt dust and water drain out... never had a problem with snow getting in and making clutches slip

I have been using windshield urethane adhiesive. You can get it at any autobody supply. Make sure you pull out the drivers because there is a hole in the bulkhead that sprays onto the carbs and then onto the clutches. My piped SXR 700 is like a boat now after I sealed it up. The urethane stays on really well but you have to clean the cracks really good with alcohol first and push it through the holes so it blobs up on the inside. ![Drink ;):D ;):D](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/all_coholic.gif)
