I haven't been able to find any info(part no.) on a new rebuildable rear shock for the 05 viper mountain, and I assume others are in the same boat. The dealer wants a fortune for the stock (pos) hydraulic shock. I found an HPG shock out of a 2001 summit that physically matches my yamaha shock. Bolts right up. I haven't yet rode it, but plan to take a gentle test ride very soon......valving may be an issue, but if this works, I will at least have a part no. to look for in a premium shock. There are shops that will build a Fox Zero Pro to match, if you mail the old one to them. Any thoughts? Someone already find a replacement for that stock shock?
