700 SX carb needles

I tried to check the position of my carb needles today. I have done this many times in the past on both VM and TM carbs. I loosend the allen screw in the top of the carb, but it would not come out to remove the needle??? Are the 33mm carbs different in some way to the 38mm I have on my 600???

Did you remove the screws (3) on throttle rail? Once you do that then you can move the one piece out of the way and then take a needle nose and pull up.
