Stock Viper head gasket

Is there a reason Yamaha put an A on one side and a B on the other side of the Viper stock head gasket? It doesn't seem to matter what way you flip the head gasket that I can see as far as all the holes lining up.

I just did mine this fall too and I if I remember correctly the raised portion goes up which is marked A.

on any headgasket, snowmobile, bike, atv, the raised part always faces up
