All right so yesterday me and a buddy were attempting to clean my pv's this is the second year I have owned this sled. And so we stated with the one closest to the clutch side and then the middle one and it was like the cable wasnt attached to them because they came right out and I could clean them without the cable attached! But the last one was still attached to the cable. I dont know what to do we cleaned all three and put 2 new gaskets on the ones that werent attached to the cables. So is this what people mean when they say pull throughs? I would appreciate some info as what to do now? The sled runs great I took it for a lil rip and was kinda suprised. But I wana make sure everything is up to par any ideas? thanks ![Letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/letitsnow.gif)

if they are pulled thru there will be a small hole in the cable slot end.

yea mrviper the first two did have a small hole in the end and I wasnt exactly sure but now I am sure thats it. So what is the best thing to do now I know these pv's can be pretty expensive?

Mr powervalve repairs them. He puts a stainless steel tip in so they dot get pull threw anymore. He is verry quick, excelent work, and a good price too. He has a thread in the SRX section on the power valve repair

I mean it sounds like thats what happened, im pretty sure the pv's arent supposed to easily come apart from the cable? Also what should I do with the pv closest to the recoil side the was the only one that was still connected to the cable and because of that I was unable to remove the old gasket and replace it with a new one? Is this also normal that the sled seems to move pretty gud I didnt go into top end but it seemed pretty snappy?
I'd send all 3 to him and have them done so it wont happen again.
If you think it's snappy now wait til you get them valves fixed, course they don't really come into play til the mid and upper rpm range.

Ya it is normal and it is powervalve pull threw. If you post some pics of the ends of the ones that came off the cables I can confirm this. I did the same thing last year. Just bought the sled and was taking them apart and 2 of the cables wernt attached and the third was. Look at the one still attached and see if there is verry little meatal holding it on if there is only a little metal holding it on just finish it off by cutting it the rest of the way out and ship all 3 to mr. powervalve to be repaired thats what I would do.

sorry I dont have a camera to post pics yet, but im about 100% sure that this is what happened. So what do I need to all take off to send out to get repaired?

Here are some pics of what mr.powervalve does. He machines the end down and drills an taps to put that S/S tip in. I got mine done before he recoats them. So now you can get them repaired and recoated.

Send the powervalve just like in the pic. Read his thread he tells you what to do and you can read his reviews. He also has more pics.

I went the first year before pulling mine and within that time the dealer prep/setting was off enough to create a near pull through.
I have since pulled them every year for cleaning without further damage.
IMO - the dealer is supposed to perform the adjustment before delivery and it doesn't get done.

Question for mr. powervalve
With some snow maybe coming this weekend just wondering if I would do any damagae to the sled if I rode it a lil this weekend and sent out the valves on Sunday? Also I have 2 confirmed pull throughs but the third one might be close should I just cut it off frm the cable, also so now that you will be fixing those then the next thing I need to get is three new cables any idea how much those run? Sorry for all the ?s thanx, Ryan

If you can hold off on riding it I would. Your playing with fire IMO. now that your valves are clean and able to move nice and freely, and they're not attached to the cables you run the risk of one catching a piston ring which is not much fun.
I would also take a shot in the dark and say that you may have been running with only one valve (maybe two) for a while. Once you get the other two working she'll come to life!
I love to ride and will farmer'ise anything, but I don't take a chance with pv's

You shouldnt need new pv cables if none of the cables are broken or showing wear.
