hey guys. i was trying to take my clutch apart with the spider when it wouldnt spread. i tried heating it up and using a 3 foot breaker bar no luck. can anyone help on what to do thanks.
Remember the fixed sheave has reverse thread.

Exactly, Bob is right on the money! left hand thread, the spider comes out of the stationary sheave, youll need heat(mapp gas or acy. torch) to help break the red loktite loose. They are TIGHT!
Less pain to get a used one......

thanks for the reply. i know about the left hand thread. ive heated it up till it turned red hot and still didnt come apart?
how did you get aluminum to turn redhot???,because its the stationary sheave that gets heated around the center, the spider comes out of the sheave. Spider is connected to main shaft. you turn the whole assembly off of the stationary sheave. You do have the sheave locked down on a table with pins holding it from turning up thru the back and a grunt tool to turn the whole spider assembly?
