I picked up a '95 Vmax a week ago (my first sled) and the steel skis were pretty rust and needed new skis skins. I decided I was better off buying a set of used plastic skis and found a good deal on a take-off pair from a 2009 Nytro. These skis look like they won't bolt up without modification to the "foot" on the pogo as well as the ski. I am capable of doing both but I was just wondering if anyone else has put skis like these on a 94-96 Vmax. Just looking for any tips if anyone has any. These skis do not have the aluminum saddle.

You dont want skis with a full composite body. The RX-1 skis are the skis you want because they have the aluminum saddle. There is a link on this site showing you step by step how to add RX-1 skis to your vmax. Go to :

Adding RX-1 skis to 94-94 pogo.
Unfortunately, I can't find any good used RX-1 skis. I may have to just make these work even though they may require more modifications than the RX-1 skis. These Nytro skis are pretty much brand new and I got them for $125. I think I can make them work with some modification "foot" and removing some of the plastic on the ski but it will take a little time. I really don't have time to wait for a pair of used RX-1 skis to pop up that I can buy and my steel skis need to much too much $$ put into them to make it worthwhile.
By the way, I already read all of those pages... but thanks.

OK, well, I may have found a pair of skis with saddles from a Viper. If I get those, I will be selling the Nytro skis.

they have the same mounting but the keel is alot bigger on the rx1 vs the viper.
srv540, I read the write-up about modifying the RX-1/Viper skis but I didn't see any type of rubber piece installed where the foot of the strut sits on the ski. Do you have anything in there?

I would say either would work for me since I haven't ever had a sled before and don't have anything to compare them to. Plus, either would be better than spending any money on powder coating & new ski skins on my stock steel skis.

I have located a set.
Just traded my Nytro skis to a friend for the stock skis off a Viper that he just got yesterday.
