I am heading out to the Snowies in a couple of weeks, anyone been out there yet? Heard it was great around Thanksgiving, but that is a little early for me. It would be cool if us mountain guys could get a conditions thread going under mountain sleds for the hunt of the POW! No more hero snow before March!! No snow in central Iowa yet, it is a little gloomy!!!

Nw Montana

NW MONTANA IS SITTING REAL NICE FOR SNOW RIGHT NOW. WENT TO WEST YELLOWSTONE THIS WEEKEND AND THEY WERE COVERED AND RIDEABLE BUT STILL WAY SHY OF WHAT WE HAVE ON THE GROUND. 48" SETTLED AT THE BASE OF BIG MOUNTAIN AND WE GO UP FROM THERE.

not a flake of snow yet up here in northern labrador :( usually were up to our necks in powder by now. getting worse every year up this way. god damn global warming! nice to see you guys are getting burried tho

washington blue mountains lacking any depth on our side and no base. idaho central panhandle mtns rolling about 48", bottomless dig to the dirt powder, if you unwisely traveled off the roads. big storm coming through again hopefully changes the scenario.

They just started grooming and marking trails last week. Fields now have enough base (4'+) to make landmines a minimal aspect and they're getting more snow every couple of days. It's been a REALLY good start of the year and getting better! Unless we get a massive warming trend, your trip should be well worth it. ;)!

Thanks

Thanks for the update. we can't wait. Puttin some more final touches on the viper. It'll never be done I dont think.

North French Creek Snotel read 87 inches today, they picked up 2' yesterday. Looks like it will be great! After seeing that I will be heading back after new years. Giver Yell :letitsnow

I was just on BCR and saw a post on there that they are supposed to have 20" new by Thursday. Pics from there look awesome!!!!

Its okay grapeape will have it taken care of on monday. Those Nebraskans, if we could only pull wyoming 1 state closer we wouldnt have to spend all that time looking at weeds and the occasional railroad track and 2 or 3 truck stops. Deeperthebetter knows what I mean!

Snowies 12-28

We rode today in the snowies. The back side area of potty hill had 18 inches of fresh powder still. We are going to split the gap tomorrow and head north of widow maker. Wind was strong today so we hung to the trees. Snow depth on my avy probe was 100 inches. Snow is good and snow is hangin on the pines making for some great scenery. Lots of sleds out here today, lots of vipers and maxes even some turbo nytros.

Snowies 12-29

We stayed low today as the wind was blowin hard on top, 50 mph gusts! Rode the P trail up and boondocked in the meadows. Last weeks 5' is pretty setup, maybe a foot to 15 inches of fluff on top, nothin great but its better than Iowa riding and working. Full on bliizzard warning tonight through Friday at midnight, a foot down low so maybe 1-3 up top? We are gonna stay low tomorrow too and in the trees. No climbin tomorrow either. We will see what its like in the morning.
