Just wondering how some others go about this. I have 3 SX700s and a SRX700. Every season the carbs get pulled and gone through at least once. I pull the air box rather than trying to get that carbs out with it in, in fact I dissemble the box, so that I can insure I get the boots mounted correctly. One of the sled has a boost bottle installed on the intake, and this is a worthwhile addition in my opinion, if one wants to go to the trouble. There are some calibration issues, but it is the only sled that once started, you can get completely off the choke, and it will idle. definately richens up the bottom end. I recently changed the needle position on a couple of the sleds to try and richen up the bottom end/ versus a pilot jet adjustment. If you have done this I'd be interested in how you've done it. Basically I did it in sled, this time I removed the screws holding the lift arm so that I could swivel and remove the slide linkage, (pivot link with 4 allen screws) so I could more easily get at the needle. The clip is magnetic so it can be retrieved with a pencil magnet. I found it helpful to use a large o-ring or rubber band on the thumb throttle to hold the slides up.
Hope you all have plenty of snow and the trails are smooth.
